Back by popular demand Te Tini  a Māui

The 2020 Sacred Springs Powwow - 10th Anniversary will feature special guest performers on Saturday and Sunday.  Back by popular demand:  Te Tini a Māui descendants of the New Zealand indigenous people.

A powwow is a festival celebrating Native American culture with drums, dancers dressed in phenomenal regalia, and Native foods, arts and crafts.

San Marcos first experienced a powwow in 1995 when the Lucky Tomblin family brought Kiowa and other indigenous people to the area.  The Sacred Springs Powwow is conducted in honor of the Tomblin Family.

The powwow is co-sponsored by Texas State University's Hispanic Business Student Association, Hombres Unidos, Sigma Lambda Beta, Sigma Lambda Gamma, and Bilingual Education Student Organization. Funding is provided by the San Marcos Arts Commission, Texas Commission on the Arts, the Tomblin Family Foundation, Pedernales Electric Coop Charities, and Friends of the Powwow.
